Boundaries, Borders & Walls

By the middle of 2018, my wife and artistic collaborator PJ Watkins and I agreed: humankind was deeply divided, and we were tired of it. We started to ask, are we really all that different? Aren’t we maybe more alike than we think?

And so begins the quest of Boundaries Borders & Walls, our ongoing, global art project. We ask people to express, through art or words, their global concerns, their hopes, their dreams for the future. With the permission of these creative contributors, we share their work, anonymously, with the world.

Behind every canvas you see is a person and a story. Over 900 canvases have been created on four continents, over a dozen countries, and dozens of states in the USA you can see the good being accomplished worldwide. The love we share for each other. Our love of food, passion for music, concern for the environment, and so much more. We may be different, but we share so much.

Maybe we can eliminate some of those boundaries, ignore some of the borders, and knock down a few walls – together. Join us in telling the world what we care about, what you care about – and that humanity can truly work together in celebration of our differences, despite our differences.

Should you choose to join us on this quest, your creative work will be added to the collection and travel with us around the world. While we ask for some information, it is voluntary, and your name is not associated with your work; we believe anonymity can foster creativity that might otherwise be unspoken. You will be provided with a uniquely numbered canvas, and that number enables you to track your work as it travels the globe.
